Lydia has been volunteering at the Seconds Shop for more than 10 years, first becoming involved as a donor during a difficult time for Nantucket, when the community experienced a troubling number of teen suicides. Having seen the impact of mental health challenges on friends and family, she cares deeply about ensuring that individuals and families have access to the support they need. She is particularly passionate about supporting women and believes in the importance of strong, accessible mental health services for all. She is proud to support Fairwinds and its continued efforts to expand programs and meet the behavioral health needs of the Nantucket community.
Before becoming involved with Fairwinds, Lydia did consignment work with Oasis, a nonprofit organization in Paterson, New Jersey. She brings a longstanding commitment to community service and supporting organizations that make a difference in people's lives.
Since 2015, Lydia has spent the summer and early fall living in downtown Nantucket. She is married to Mark Kennelley, and together they have two children and a grandson.
Lydia holds a BA in Biology from Douglass College, a medical technology certification (MT[ASCP]), and an MBA from Columbia University.
