Phillips G. Smith was a Senior Vice President at The Bank of New York, responsible for corporate banking in New York City and the surrounding area. Since then he has been an investment banker with a small firm specializing in healthcare information technology. Phil has a degree in mechanical engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology and an M.B. A. in finance from The Wharton School. He is Trustee Emeritus of Tabor Academy and serves on the Vestry of St. Paul’s Church – Nantucket, the Executive Committee of Nantucket Community Sailing, the Race Committee of the Opera House Cup and the board of the Nantucket Shellfish Association. He is an active member of the Nantucket Yacht Club and has a special interest in restoring classic wooden boats. Phil and his wife, Ann, have been coming to the Island for generations and are now residents of Nantucket, but they also have a pied-à-terre in the West Village in Manhattan.
