Hugh Robbins, BA:

Prevention and Outreach Coodinator

Hugh Robbins is the agency’s Prevention and Outreach Coordinator. In that capacity he collaborates with other nonprofits, offers preventative evidence-based trainings to the community, facilitates a youth group called RealTalk in partnership with ASAP and the Nantucket Boys & Girls Club, and leads the initiative aimed at addressing youth homelessness on Nantucket. He is a walking, talking advertisement for all the wonderful work that Fairwinds does as he forges relationships and builds bridges throughout the community. Hugh was born in New York City and grew up in Palm Beach, Florida. He has been coming to Nantucket in the summer months for as long as he can remember. After graduating from Kimball Union Academy in 2007, Hugh went on to receive a bachelor’s degree in political science from The University of Colorado at Boulder. Hugh moved to Nantucket in 2016. Prior to coming to Fairwinds in 2018, he worked as the Computer Lab Coordinator at the Nantucket Boys & Girls Club. Hugh has been sober since March 27th, 2011 and is proud to be in a healthy life of recovery. In his free time, Hugh is a runner, a surfer, and avid tennis player. In the summer of 2006, Hugh embarked on a month-long wilderness adventure with Outward Bound where he traveled over 200 miles by canoe in the Boundary Waters of Minnesota. This was an experience of a lifetime and furthered his knowledge on how to maintain a healthy, productive, and active lifestyle.
