Dan is from the Boston area and recently joined the Fairwinds clinical team. He has been a social worker since 2005, and focuses primarily on addiction and severe mental health diagnoses. A graduate of Stonehill College, where he studied criminal justice and Spanish, he went on to serve in the US Peace Corps. Upon his return, he moved to Southern California for some sun and fun, and also to attend San Diego State University for his master’s in social work. When he returned to Boston to be near family and friends, he earned an MBA—“for the pure joy of learning!” The degree helped him when he was clinical director, once at a private detox facility and later and a state-run facility. During grad school, Dan worked in two group homes where he worked closely with children. He loves the spring and summer months and is a competitive triathlete, and even completed an Ironman in Lake Placid. He is very excited to be at Fairwinds and work closely with the people of Nantucket.
